Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has ordered that the cleaning practices followed on commercial flights be introduced in Vande Bharat trains to collect garbage.
The minister’s order comes after some media reports highlighted littering in a newly introduced Vande Bharat Train by passengers.
He also put out a video of the new practice being followed in a Vande Bharat coach where an IRCTC staffer is seen moving around with a big bag for passengers to put the litter.
Mr Vaishnaw said in a tweet that the cleaning system has been changed in Vande Bharat trains and sought cooperation from people as well to keep trains clean.
“Cleaning system changed for #VandeBharat trains. Your cooperation expected,” the minister tweeted.
