<p style="font-weight: 400;">On the anniversary of the Fit India Movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with fitness enthusiasts, cricketer Virat Kohli, Bollywood actor Milind Soman, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, and others.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">“Fitness ki dose, aadha ghanta roz,” the Prime Minister introduced the nation to his latest slogan for a fit India.</p>
“I am glad that healthy eating is becoming a part of our way of living. Becoming fit is not as difficult as most think. It just requires a little discipline,” Modi said, adding that we need to inspire one another to stay fit. “Families that play together, stay together.”
"Fitness is key to competition," said the Prime Minister.
He said he believes that the people will join the Fit India movement and asked experts to help the people in becoming fit.
Modi said that during Covid times fitness has got a new definition and it has become a people's movement, necessary for every age group.
<p style="font-weight: 400;">During his interaction with Kohli, the Prime Minister asked him how he maintains his fitness. "I can't miss my fitness session," the cricketer replied. Kohli said that demands in life have increased and fitness is most important.</p>
The Prime Minister stressed the need for mental and emotional fitness and interacted with seven people from diverse fields from female football player Afshan to yoga guru and fitness experts like Mukul Kanitker and Paralympian Devendra.
Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar said healthy living means sticking to simple, home-made food. “We should not lose health, but weight. We should eat home-made food and avoid packaged food. This is the secret to good health,” she said.
Swami Shivadhyanam Saraswati, also among the speakers, stressed on the importance of yoga and discipline.
Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal’s Mukul Kanitkar said it is important to keep one’s mind, body, and sentiment fit. “The whole society needs to develop the culture of fitness, only then will a change be brought about,” he said.
