Fans, cricketers celebrate Sachin Tendulkar’s 48th birthday

<p>
<strong>Wishes continue to pour in from all corners of the world as Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, currently recovering from Covid-19 after being hospitalized earlier this month, turned 48 today.</strong></p>
<p>
Born on April 24, 1973, Tendulkar racked up a record 100 centuries across formats, becoming the favourite son of cricket-mad nation. The 'Little Master' made his debut against Pakistan in 1989 and scored his first Test century in 1990 against England. By the end of his career, he had 51 centuries in Tests and 49 in ODIs. He retired from ODIs in 2012 and played his final Test match in November 2013, his 200th game.</p>

"Wishing the legendary master blaster @sachin_rt a very Happy Birthday! Great to see you back and fully recovered! Lots of love and best wishes #HappyBirthdaySachin," tweeted Yuvraj Singh along with a montage of his images and videos with the former great. </p>
<p>
Both players, along with a lot of retired cricketers, had participated in the Road Safety World Series last month. Tendulkar had tested positive for Covid-19 after returning home from the tournament.</p>

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) too took to Twitter to highlight stats from Tendulkar's glorious career. "Here's wishing the legendary @sachin_rt a very happy birthday #TeamIndia Let's relive that special knock with which he became the first batsman to score an ODI double ton," BCCI tweeted along with the video of Sachin's 200 scored in Gwalior.</p>
