Char Dham Yatra starts, daily limit on number of pilgrims lifted

Dehradun: The restriction on the daily number of devotees visiting for the Char Dham Yatra has been withdrawn to facilitate the visit of pilgrims. The step was taken after Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami intervened in the matter.

The process of online and offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra which began today will remain the same as it helps keep track of devotees, according to an official statement.

Meanwhile, the Panchmukhi Utsav Doli of Baba Kedarnath left for the Himalayas on Friday after its winter stay in Ukhimath. Thousands of devotees have reached Omkareshwar temple Ukhimath on this occasion.

The Doli will reach Kedarnath on April 24.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on April 25 and Gangotri Dham on April 22.

On Thursday Chief Minister Dhami participated in the mock drill organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for the Char Dham Yatra-2023, as part of the preparations on the Char Dham Yatra routes,” the official statement said.

The state government has also issued a health advisory to pilgrims.
