After Arunachal, Rajnath visits forward posts along Chinese border in Uttarakhand

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated Vijayadashmi with the Armed Forces personnel and interacted with them in Uttarakhand’s Auli on the occasion of Dusshera on Wednesday.

Singh accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande also performed ‘Shastra Puja’ with the soldiers at the military station on the auspicious occasion.

On a two-day visit to the hill state, the Defence Minister will also inspect the forward posts of the Army and ITBP on the India-China border today.

Arriving in Dehradun Tuesday evening, the minister interacted with the soldiers and also had dinner with them.

Singh’s visit to Uttarakhand comes after his last week’s trip to the easternmost part of the country.

The Defence Minister had made an on-the-ground assessment of the country’s defence preparedness along the LAC by taking stock of the entire gamut of security-related aspects in Arunachal Pradesh.

During his visit to the forward areas, Singh also held an interaction with the Armed Forces personnel in Tezpur, Assam.
