Delhi records 8 more deaths due to Covid, positivity rate at 14.57%

The national capital on Monday logged 1,227 new Covid-19 cases while another 8 more people died due to the disease, according to data compiled by the city’s health department.</p>
<p>
The positivity rate for Covid infections has gone up to a disturbing 14.57 per cent.</p>
<p>
Prior to this, the city recorded more than 2,000 cases daily for 12 days in a row.</p>
<p>
The national capital had recorded 2,162 Covid-19 cases on Sunday with a positivity rate of 12.64 per cent, and five deaths.</p>
<p>
There are currently 7,519 active Covid-19 cases in the city. As many as 5,760 patients are in home isolation, the bulletin said.</p>
<p>
Fresh cases on Monday came out of 8,421 COVID-19 tests, the health department said in its latest bulletin. There are now 335 containment zones in the city.</p>
<p>
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwallast week said that though the cases were on the rise, there was no need to panic as most of the patients showed mild symptoms.</p>
