<p>
The daily count of fresh COVID-19 cases in Delhi surged to 1,530 on Sunday with the positivity rate surging to 8.41 per cent, according to the state government&rsquo;s health bulletin on Sunday.</p>
<p>
While there were three deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours, the number of active coronavirus cases in the capital has gone up to 5,542.</p>
<p>
Meanwhile, nationwide there were 12,899 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday and 15 deaths according to the Union Health Ministry data.</p>
<p>
The Union Health Ministry has advised States and Union Territories to step up testing for early detection and isolation of infected cases so that the disease does not spread. They have also been asked to ensure COVID appropriate behaviour among the people such as wearing masks and social distancing.&nbsp;</p>
