Watch: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gets up to bring water for speaker at Mumbai event in act of humility

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has won praise on social media for her humility in getting up from her chair and offering water to the Managing Director of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), Padmaja Chunduru, who was giving a speech during a function in Mumbai.</p>

A video of the event that has gone viral shows Padmaja Chunduru pausing in the middle of her speech and gesturing for water. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is then seen walking across with a glass and bottle of water to Ms Chunduru.</p>

Overwhelmed by the gesture, Ms Chunduru thanks the Finance Minister, who is the chief guest for the occasion, while the audience goes into a spontaneous applause in appreciation.</p>

The incident took place at an event held in Mumbai to celebrate the silver jubilee of NSDL on Saturday.</p>

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had been invited to launch NSDL's investor awareness programme 'Market Ka Eklavya' for students in Hindi and other regional languages.</p>
