Taxmen raid leading Tamil Nadu real estate firm G Square

The Income Tax Department on Monday launched searches at the premises of leading real estate firm, G Square, which has its headquarters in Chennai with business across South India.

Searches were being held in around 50 premises across Chennai, Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli.

DMK legislator MK Mohan’s in Chennai was also searched by the Income Tax officials.

Searches were being reportedly held in Karnataka and Telangana offices of the real estate firm also.

Some persons, including BJP state unit chief K Annamalai, have alleged the G Square has links to the ruling DMK’s ‘first family.’

There were no comments from G Square on the tax raids being carried out at its premises.
