The Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal today launched the SBI-IRCTC contactless co-branded credit card on RuPay platform. The minister called it an attempt to make the country, 'Aatma Nirbhar.
“We are strongly committed to making railways ‘Aatma Nirbhar’. The co-branded card working on RuPay platform is one of the many Make In India activities undertaken by the Railways,” said the Railway Minister.
Ensuring the safe transaction to the customers, the RuPay credit card is equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology where users can expedite their transactions at the POS machines by just tapping the card on the machines without requiring to swipe the card.
The card also offers the maximum savings to the frequent railway travelers, it also offers benefits on retail, dining and entertainment as well as transaction fee waivers.
"The Cardholders will receive up to ten per cent value back on bookings made from the IRCTC website. The card also offers an online transaction fee waiver, one percent fuel surcharge waiver, and four premium lounge free access at railway stations in a year," the press release added..
