Alert pilot saves airline saves lives by aborting landing at Heathrow

The video of a British Airways plane swaying while landing and then finally aborting the attempt had the viewers on the seat’s edge. The incident took place at Heathrow airport as the aircraft gave up landing after being caught in high winds during Storm Corrie.</p>

The visual footage of this incident captured by plane spotters on Monday showed the jet, which had come from Aberdeen, Scotland, swayed on to its left side as it approached the runway. The video making rounds on social media shows the plane almost leaning heavily to one side as its tail appeared to make contact with the ground.</p>

Fortunately, the pilot steadied the plane and pulled it up before making another landing attempt which was successful.</p>
<p>
Talking about the incident with the media, the spokesperson of British Airways said: “Our pilots are highly trained to manage a range of scenarios, including extreme weather conditions, and our flight crew landed the aircraft safely. Our customers and crew all disembarked as normal.”</p>
