Suryakumar Yadav, who has had an excellent career in white-ball cricket so far, made his Test debut for India on Thursday as the Rohit Sharma-led team took on Australia in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series in Nagpur.
Yadav, currently the world’s best T20I batter, received his Test cap from former coach Ravi Shastri who is doing the commentary duties in the series.
Also making his Test debut is wicket-keeper KS Bharat who got a nod ahead of Ishan Kishan. Bharat received his Test cap from Cheteshwar Pujara.
