Watch: Surekha Yadav, first Asian woman loco pilot operating Vande Bharat Express

Central Railway’s Surekha Yadav who is Asia’s first woman loco pilot, added another feather to her cap. She became the first female to operate the semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express.

The videos posted by the Ministry of Railways on Twitter show Yadav confidently handling the Vande Bharat Express between Solapur station and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Yadav who belongs to Satara in the western Maharashtra region became a train driver in 1988 and has since then won many awards at the State and national levels so far for her achievements.
