Following a 48-hour marathon effort, a man named Ch. Raju was rescued from under the rocks in Kamareddy area located in Telangana’s Nizamabad district.
A team of officials from police, forest and fire services department worked tirelessly for two days to pull out Raju safely as he was stuck between two huge boulders in the Yellareddy forest area.
The rescue team had used four JCBs to remove the boulders to rescue him and even blasted some rocks.
Raju who hails from Reddipet village had gone to the hills on Tuesday evening to catch rabbits found among the rocks. While doing this, his mobile phone slipped out of pocket and fell between two rocks. While trying to retrieve the phone which had fallen to a depth of 15 feet, he got stuck between two boulders.
The family waiting for him anxiously, got worried when they could not reach him on the mobile phone. It is then that Raju’s family members started searching for him. During their search they found him stuck between the boulders and alerted the police.
He was partly visible to the rescuers who told him to keep calm and patient while they carried out the work to bring him out. He was given glucose and kept hydrated.
Raju was safely rescued yesterday and rushed to the hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
