Watch: India’s relay team breaks Asian record as they finish close 2nd to US in World Championship heats

The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team came up with an extraordinary performance to finish a close second to the US in the heats of the World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest as they broke the Asian record for the event on Saturday.

The brilliant quartet of Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi, and Rajesh Ramesh set a new Asian record, clocking 2 minutes and 59.05 seconds to qualify for its maiden final round of the World Athletics Championships. India finished second in heat just behind USA (2:58.47) to make it to the final in the fastest timing ever clocked by an Indian relay team. The finals for the event will be held on Sunday.
