Watch: Elephant playing football with children outside Mangaluru temple

A 33-year-old elephant named Mahalakshmi in Karnataka’s Mangaluru has become a big hit with a video put out by global news agency Reuters showing the friendly jumbo playing football with children at the city’s Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple.

The clip also shows the elephant playing with its trainers , striking a ball thrown at it with a stick held in its trunk.

The elephant is also seen ringing the temple bell and has a crowd of admirers looking on.
