Going beyond her line of duty, a courageous bank manager in Rajasthan successfully averted a robbery. In a video which has gone viral, she can be seen single-handedly confronting the robber – holding a knife — with a pair of pliers.
Video:
The incident took place on Saturday at the Marudhara Gramin Bank in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar. Media reports said that when the robbery was attempted there was Rs. 30 lakhs in the bank. The footage shows Poonam Gupta, the manager in a heated argument with the robber and deciding to take the lead in preventing the robbery.
When she tried to reach for her mobile, she was attacked. While her colleagues intervened, she picked up the pliers from the ground which had apparently fallen from the robber’s pocket and waved it at him. Finally, the robber decided to run away.
It was reported that the masked robber was caught later and claimed that he belonged to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Viewers of the footage appreciated her bravery.
