The Kerala Story poised to cross Rs 100 crore in ticket sales

The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role and directed by Sudipto Sen, is continuing its successful run at the box office as it is poised to cross the Rs 100 mark in ticket sales today.

The blockbuster raked in another Rs 12.5 crore on Friday taking its box office collections after 8 days of release to Rs 94 crore. The collection for Friday was the same as Thursday and the film has now earned Rs 12 crore or more a day for three days in a row.

The Kerala Story is a film that claims to tell stories of women from Kerala who were converted to Islam and radicalised into joining the terror group ISIS. Several states have witnessed protests after the film’s release and West Bengal has banned the movie.

However, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have made the film tax-free on the ground that it has a story to tell that needs to be highlighted.

If The Kerala Story manages to remain steady, the movie will surpass the Rs 100 crore mark today.
