As part of the second phase of the year-long Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the South Central Railway held the event Cultural Pride on Monday. Under this, the employees of SCR enacted a patriotic play based on the heroic acts and deeds of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Depicting the Indian freedom movement during the early 20th Century, the play enacted the ideals of the freedom fighter and his heroic acts against British rule in India.

Held at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad, the play drew generous appreciation and applause from the large audience which had come to watch it.

Besides the play, SCR staff also presented a Kuchipudi dance performance

This was followed by a graceful Kuchipudi recital which presented mahisasura mardini.

Appreciating the performance of SCR artists in both the events, Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of the zone said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s life and acts had a deep impact on our freedom struggle. He added that traditional dance forms like the Kuchipudi showcase India’s cultural diversity.
