A novel wedding invitation has got the Netizens sitting up and appreciating the ingenuity of its creator. It is a 30 cm wooden ruler which was used in 2013 for inviting the guests to attend the wedding and also print the menu of the feast.

The list of the dishes to be served to the guests included fish, fried rice, mutton masala, and mango chutney among other items. The wedding and the feast was for Sushmita and Animesh in Siliguri, West Bengal.

Many food lovers recalled the wonderful times they had attending weddings and enjoying the feast without any fear of the Covid-19 pandemic while others were truly impressed by the use of the common wooden ruler for inviting people.

One user joked and wrote: "Please don't use it to strike if someone wants to eat more,” while another one wondered if the ruler was for measuring the tummy of the guests.

Recalling the school days, one user wrote: "These scales used to scare us as kids.”

Last year in February, again in West Bengal, Gogol Saha and Subarna Das, captured the attention of the Internet after their innovative wedding food menu went popular on social media. It was inspired and designed like an Aadhaar card. In the menu there were starters like chicken lollipop, crispy baby corn and coffee etc while the main course items had mutton kasha, rasogolla, sandesh, and other dishes.
