India defeated England to win the inaugural Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday with its bowlers turning out an extraordinary performance. The Indian girls reached the target of 69 in 14 overs losing only three wickets.
India’s bowling attack , spearheaded by brilliant pacer Titas Sadhu and leg-spinner Parshavi Chopra, laid the foundation for the victory by bundling out England for a mere 68 runs.
While Sadhu took two wickets in her four overs a mere 6 runs and Chopra, too, scalped two top batters for 13. Archana Devi returned figures of 2 for 17, while Mannat Kashyap (1/13), Shafali Verma (1/16) and Sonam Yadav (1/3) accounted for one wicket each. (
