CCTV footage of the incident shows a black dog wearing a red collar sitting on the compound wall of a house. A leopard then appears and the dog runs for his life. But the wild beast outruns the dog and carries him away in his jaws.

The video has been posted on Twitter by Pankaj Garg, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Nashik.

"We appeal to the people of Mungsare village to remain indoors at night as leopard activity has increased in this area. People must remain alert," news agency ANI cited Garg as saying.
