Emotional appeal by Massoud’s sister raises morale among anti-Taliban forces

Few Hours after the Taliban’s claimed that they had captured Panjshir Valley, National Resistance Force (NRF) leader Ahmad Massoud announced that they were still in Panjshir and fighting against the invaders. He also called the anti-Taliban forces to continue their fight against the Taliban. In an audio message sent to the media, Ahmad Massoud said,  "Wherever you are, inside or outside, I call on you to begin a national uprising for the dignity, freedom and prosperity of our country."

He added that the NRF will continue to fight the Taliban.

The leader added that the people in the country and the international community should come together to fight the insurgent group. He said that the Taliban have changed, and they have become more aggressive. Massoud also blamed the UN for taking wrong decisions by engaging in talks with the Taliban.

Massoud said that Pakistan has been  directly attacking  Afghans in Panjshir and the international community watched silently. Stressing that he wouldn’t give up until his last drop of blood, Massoud emphasized that the Taliban are continuing its attack with Pakistan’s aid.

Massoud also urged for international assistance in the wake of the Taliban invasion.

Maryam Ahmadshah Massoud’s sister and daughter of the “lion of Panjshir” Ahmad Shah Massoud posted on twitter about the death of two relatives ,NRF spokesperson Fahim Dashti  and NRF commander, General Abdul Wadud Zareh,uncle of Ahmad Masoud among others.

“My family lost two members today!My aunt (my dad’s niece) lost her brother AND her husband at once! There’s no family interest for us! It’s for Afghanistan, for people of Afg that are silent now!! For freedom, for Islam & culture, for our language, for our land and for our home.” She said on Twitter, “We, the nation of Afghanistan, will never ever recognize the Taliban as our government! They’re deceiving the West and the world to get this recognition but they forgot about the people of Afghanistan! We didn’t, don’t and won’t accept an illegitimate, imposed, puppet as our government.”

According to witnesses from Panjshir, Pakistani drones have been bombing in Panjshir. Aria Nejad, former representative of Samangan in the Afghan Parliament claimed that the Pakistani air force also used smart bombs.

Earlier, the NRF had refuted the Taliban's claim of capturing the entire Panjshir.

“Taliban’s claim of occupying Panjshir is false. The NRF forces are present in all strategic positions across the valley to continue the fight. We assure the people of Afghanistan that the struggle against the Taliban & their partners will continue until justice & freedom prevails,” said NFR on Twitter.
