Indian Navy will start the flight trials of US F-18 fighters from May 23. The US craft is one of the contenders for 26 fighters onboard soon on INS Vikrant. INS Vikrant is India's indigenous aircraft carrier to be commissioned in August 2022. As Indian Navy is expected to buy 26 carriers based multi-role fighters for INS Vikrant 8 of these aircraft two-seaters to be used both for flight training and operations.
