PM Modi to Sachin Tendulkar – all hail India’s memorable win over Pakistan in Asia Cup

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket for their five-wicket triumph over Pakistan in their opening game of the Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday night.

“Team India put up a spectacular all-round performance in today’s Asia Cup 2022 match. The team has displayed superb skill and grit. Congratulations to them on the victory,” PM Modi tweeted after the Indian team’s victory.

As celebrations erupted all over the country, Home Minister Amit Shah also hailed Team India’s show.

“What a superb start by Team India at the Asia Cup 2022. This was such a nail-biting match. Congratulations to the entire team for this amazing victory. Keep it up!” he tweeted along with a picture of man-of-the-match Hardik Pandya.

Former India skipper Sachin Tendulkar also joined in the celebrations on social media.

“It came down to fitness of the fast bowlers while put under pressure, though both teams’ pacers bowled well upfront. Crucial knock by Hardik to stay till the end & get us over the line and ably supported by Jadeja and Virat. Congrats on a nail-biting win,” tweeted Tendulkar.

Former swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag also couldn’t hide his joy after the close match.

“Wow wow wow ! Fantastic Hardik Pandya. Sab kuchh main karega. Brilliant performance by Bhuvi, good hand by Jaddu and Kohli as well. Glad to see a close India-Pakistan match after a long time. Mast maza aa gaya,” he wrote on Twitter.

His former colleague Yuvraj Singh also took to Twitter to share his joy.

“Well done! Good victory in a high pressure game!! Well bowled and well played Hardik Pandya, Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar,” tweeted Yuvraj.

Currently nursing a back injury, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah also congratulated his teammates.

“Brilliant start. Memorable game of cricket,” tweeted the fast bowler.

Mohammed Shami, who is also not in Dubai with the Indian cricket team, praised the remarkable achievement.

“Tonight it was a great match and victory Well played boys, congratulations for the win well done Indian cricket team,” tweeted Shami.
