A kind-hearted Kolkata traffic policeman Sergeant Prakash Ghosh has become a big hit on social media after a photo of him helping an eight-year-old homeless boy on the street with his school lessons was posted on the internet.

The photo, shot by a local journalist, of the boy sitting under a tree by the roadside along with his school bag and pencil box as the cop teaches him, has touched many hearts.

Ghosh, who is often on duty near Ballygunge ITI in south Kolkata, had noticed the boy and his mother in the area. They are homeless and live on the pavement.

After the mother complained that her son was losing interest in his studies, the policeman was deeply moved and decided to help the boy, who is a Class III student.
