Delhi slaps fines for not wearing masks as COVID cases surge

Delhi on Friday reported 1,042 fresh Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 4.64 per cent while two persons died due to the infection.

Delhi government has issued an official order that makes wearing of masks mandatory in public places with immediate effect and imposed a fine of Rs 500 for any violation of the norm.

However, people travelling in private cars need not wear masks while driving.
