India reported 7,584 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours, data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday showed.

The number of deaths recorded due to the disease on Thursday was put at 24. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country increased to 36,267.

The daily positivity rate has now gone up to 2.26 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was at 1.50 per cent.

As many as 3,35,050 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the cumulative doses COVID-19 vaccine administered in the country so far has gone past the 194.76 crore mark.

Over 3.49 crore first dose vaccines have been administered for the age group 12-14 years, the health ministry stated.
