WATCH: Hardik refuses to pass on strike to Karthik in final over of T20I vs South Africa, argument ensues

Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik.

India team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has come in for criticism on social media for refusing to take a single on the second last ball of the innings in the T20I vs South Africa which would have passed on the strike to Dinesh Karthik for the last ball.

A video clip shows that an argument ensued between the duo after that.

Hardik then played the last ball but failed to achieve his objective of a big hit as he managed to score only two runs.

Both Hardik Patel and Dinesh Karthik have returned to the India team on the back of their IPL performance after having been laid off for quite a long time. The duo appear to be competing for the finisher's spot in the India team.

Hardik in characteristic style delivered with a superb knock to score 31 off 12 balls studded with three sixes in the T20I versus South Africa.  Karthik, on the other hand, could only face 2 balls, scoring one run.

Eventually India lost the match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday despite putting up a strong total of 211 runs.
