Popular Bengali television actress Pallavi Dey was found dead at her flat in Garfa area of Kolkata on Sunday morning.

Police said that after preliminary investigation, it seems the young actress, who was in her 20s,  died by suicide. However, her family suspects that she was murdered.

Pallavi, who played the lead role in the TV ‘Mon Mane Na’series, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house. She was rushed to Bangur hospital where she was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Police have started an investigation into the matter and the body has been sent for post-mortem.

Dey was reportedly in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend. He is being questioned at Garfa police station in connection with the case, officers said.
