Undaunted 10-year-old Seema hops one kilometre daily to reach her school as she wants to study

Where there is a will, there is a way and showing this is Bihar’s 10-year-old girl named Seema who hops on one leg for one kilometre to reach her school. Hailing from Jamui district, she lost one leg two years ago which had to be amputated following an accident.

The loss of leg did not deter Seema’s spirit, as she loves studying and was willing to go through the strenuous hopping to reach school.

Her video going to the school was shared on social media and it got the attention of actor Sonu Sood – who has helped many during the successive waves of Covid-19 pandemic. He has retweeted the video and written in Hindi that from now on she will go to school jumping on not one but two legs. He added: “I am sending the ticket, the time has come to walk on both feet.” Sood tagged Sood Foundation, the actor’s NGO to do the needful.

Meanwhile, Bihar’s Minister for Building Construction, Dr Ashok Choudhary, praised Seema and assured her all help. Officials of the State have reportedly reacted quickly and presented Seema a tricycle.
