Tuljabhavani temple

With the huge rush of devotees on Makar Sankranti at  the divine temple of Tuljabhavani in Maharashtra’s Tuljapur during the day, the temple authorities have decided to  bar the entry of men for one hour in the evening which will be kept exclusively for women to offer their prayers at the temple.

The temple authorities are expecting a huge crowd of female devotees in the evening. In order to make it easier for the female devotees to seek blessings of the Goddess, the entry of men has been banned between 5-6 pm.

Only female devotees with a valid Aadhar card would be permitted to enter the Tuljabhavani temple during this hour, according to a report in Zee 24 Taas, a Marathi news channel.

Tulja Bhavani is a form of holy Goddess Parvati, who is worshiped in Maharashtra, and also by people of Telangana, Northern Karnataka, and Nepal.
